No Win No Fee
What Is a No Win – No Fee Agreement and How Does It Work?
A No Win – No Fee agreement, also known as a Conditional Fee Agreement (CFA), is a legal fee arrangement between you and your solicitor. It allows you to pursue a claim without paying any upfront legal fees.
- Your solicitor will handle your case without charging you at the start.
- If your claim is successful, the solicitor’s fees are recovered from the other party (usually their insurer), along with a success fee, a percentage deducted from your compensation to cover the risk taken.
- If your claim is unsuccessful, you won’t have to pay your solicitor’s fees, provided you’ve followed the terms of the agreement.
It’s important to note:
- Not all solicitors offer a No Win – No Fee agreement.
- Not every case qualifies for a No Win -No Fee agreement. To qualify, your claim must meet a minimum value threshold and have a reasonable prospect of success (typically over 50%).
